Simon studied at Bristol UWE and has a BA hons degree in Economics and Politics, following which he spent 3 years working in advertising in London for media owners JCDecaux.
Over the past 15 years Simon has worked for some of the most high profile sailing campaigns in the UK. He spent 4 years central to the Mike Golding yacht racing team under the Ecover sponsorship, following which he serviced contracts for Pindar and Hellomoto.
In 2006/7 Simon took on the campaign management role for Sir Robin Knox Johnston in the Velux 5 Oceans Solo round the world yacht race. Sir Robin, with Simon’s support, completed the Velux 5 Oceans becoming the oldest competitor to finish a solo round the world yacht race in his second solo circumnavigation at the age of 68.
Simon then secured the position of skipper of the Open 60 Artemis Ocean Racing 1. He was awarded the RORC class championship for the 2008/9 season as well as being involved as skipper in several high profile media events, namely BBC’s “Three men in more than 1 boat” and “Eighty Days around the world”.
Having been central to the success of high profile sponsored campaigns and having managed yachts for private owners Simon brings to the table a wealth of both practical and commercial experience within the yachting industry.
Sean brings to the team 20 years of commercial sales experience in the media sector. Sean has held senior management positions within global media organisations and worked globally across EMEA territories and in the United States.
Having worked for the Financial Times for 13 years Sean worked in both their London and San Francisco offices and was head of sales for the FT Weekend and instrumental in setting up the FT Sales team on the west coast of the United States.
With both a keen interest in sailing having competed at university team level at Portsmouth and a highly successful commercial background, Sean is well qualified to advise on the commercial benefits of sailing sponsorship.
Jess is a senior account manager with a background in the advertising industry and with extensive experience in the world of international sport events. For six years Jess specialised in client servicing, sponsorship and rights deliveries as sponsorship coordinator and senior client service manager for the Volvo Ocean Race.
Jess has over 15 years experience of having worked for professional sailing campaigns amongst which she spent a period of time with the Hugo Boss sailing team.
Jess brings a wealth of sailing sponsorship knowledge to help current and future partners maximise the value of their investment in the sport of sailing.
Mikey has over 15 years experience in high performance offshore race boats. Mikey has specialist experience of managing and skippering Open 60s. He has worked on the following IMOCA 60 race yachts: Ecover, Gamesa, Aviva, Artemis 1 and Artemis 2.
Breaking the World Record for Round Britain and Ireland in 2014 on Artemis Ocean Racing 2 was a career highlight.
Mikey goes into his 3rd season as skipper of Artemis Ocean racing with a focus on bringing his considerable experience to developing British solo ocean racing talent of the future.

After graduating from Plymouth University in 2013, South West sailor Sam Matson has dedicated his life to becoming the best offshore sailor and chasing his ambition of competing in the Vendée Globe.
In 2014 he raced his way into the headlines, stealing the spotlight from the other British skippers by taking the top British result and best British first comer in the world championships of offshore racing. Since then he has competed in two additional championship seasons and a Trans-Atlantic race securing the best ever British result.
Sam came out on top in our Vendee2020Vision selection process in 2016, and is now a full time Trainee skipper onboard our IMOCA 60 Artemis Ocean Racing. His goal this year is to compete in the Transat Jacques Vabre in November 2017, whilst learning everything he can about an IMOCA 60.

22-year-old Will from Weybridge in Surrey is passionate about solo offshore racing and his ultimate dream is to compete in and win the solo round the world ocean race, the Vendee Globe.
Having raced in Olympic classes of dinghies from a young age for the British Sailing Team, Will began his solo offshore sailing career in 2013 when he was one of only 3 selected for the Artemis Offshore Academy based on the Isle of Wight. After training and racing alongside completing a full time degree in Southampton, he competed in the 2016 Solo Figaro racing circuit and won the rookie division and finished 2nd British sailor overall.
